Example Acoustic Neuroma (Dr. Helenowski Experience)

This patient had a recurrent acoutic neuroma after craniotomy for tumor.

Image 1a and 1b - MRI scan of the tumor (which is circled in red) at the time of Gamma Radiosurgery on two images of the scan.

Image 2a and 2b - Four months after radiosurgery, there is some swelling in the tumor making it appear somewhat larger than at the time of treatment.

Image 3a and 3b - One year later, the tumor is under good control and significantly smaller.


This case is presented as an example only of what has been achieved with radiosurgery by Dr. Helenowski. Each case is different and there are no guarantees that patients with similar appearing tumors will have exactly the same response even if treated the same.
